An Actual Aid Idea
> Be a mentor to the visually impaired
Volunteer to improve the spoken English & Communication skills of a visually impaired young adult.
Not all course material text books are available in Braille for the visually impaired , therefore
 - Lend your voice to record text books on audio CDs for blind students
- Cover the cost of Scanning text books (not available in Braille) into computer CDs that can be read by Jaws software and thereby benefit several blind students


Appeal for Aid

> Your old gadgets can be invaluable tools for Blind students.
An old lap top , desk top , N and E series phones (working condition)can help a blind student communicate ,use a computer and the internet like a sighted person (using softwares like Jaws & Talk) .Eg …internet like a sighted person (using softwares like Jaws& Talk).They can also use programmes on these mobile phones during long hrs of travel, to improve skills like spoken English .

The Institute works on developing the skills of deaf and deafblind children and young adults ,supporting their integration into society through education and vocational programmes.

Real Life Heroes Beroze Vacha Founder Of the Helen Keller Institute for the Deaf and Deaf blind in Mumbai and Head of the Institute Yogesh   Deaf blind adult Bharat who is an earning and productive member of society thanks to the efforts of his trainers and teachers at Helen Keller, Bharat had a conversation with Pooja using a computer despite not being able to hear or see her or say anything himself
The work of art using pieces of cloth by Mary who has been mute,deaf and blind since birth, she also makes pretty necklaces out of pearls.
